In term 1 we focused on exposition, as that fitted neatly with the NAPLAN requirement for 2013.
In term 2 we focused on information reports, as our Science unit final product was a poster about an animal.
In term 3 we are starting Writer's Notebook, and students will have some free writing time, but I will also teach specific genres in addition to this. As Literacy and Numeracy week has the idea of a poem in your pocket, we are going to do some work on poetry at the beginning of term 3.
